Understanding Industrial Music

There are many different descriptions of this style of music but it is commonly described as being harsh, electronic, machine-like. The style of song can range from danceable to irratic. The lyrics and recorded vocals will often be digitally manipulated to match the harsh electronic sounds. Band who record in this style of music can include standard rock instruments (drums, bass, guitar) but also include keyboards as a primary instrument. Lyrics can often include dark topics such as death and trauma as well as futuristic themes such as robots or machinery. It is often the subject matter that groups Industrial Music with Gothic Music.
