Intercosmic is a goth experimental band started 2010 and is the creation of Gary Lawrence who writes, arranges,performs and mixes Intercosmic. Intercosmic is influenced by the 80's Goth and post punk movement as well as progressive and psychedelic music. Gary hails from Southern Africa where he gained cult guitarist status in the 90's alternative movement.Gary lived in a conservative community where bands mainly played radio covers and genres such as punk metal and goth were taboo.After a year trip to London Uk in 1993,Gary got to see long time heroes The Cult and The Cure live in concert.Inspired Gary returned home and started a band playing Cure,Cult,Floyd,Clash and Doors covers plus a punk original called Egobitch he had written in a London commune.The band was well received amongst the alternatives and broke ground for other underground goth and metal bands.In 1998 Gary recorded his first original studio demo with garage band the Temple of Boom.The band would later become Drift and tour South Africa in 2000.Gary moved to the U.K end 2000 and due to personal reasons, had a long term hiatus from the music industry.2010 karma has again spoken and Intercosmic born.The journey has just begun...again.The music is inspired by personal experiences,sci fi,shamanism, esoteric literature,zen and general fucked upness and is dark and brooding with contrasting layered guitar arppegios and harmonics with the odd classic rock solo thrown in.
