Dyonisis – Intoxicated
Released on Singed Records December 13th
“Evocative, brooding and otherworldly ” ~ Exposed Magazine
“An emotionally uplifting journey…. you become so lost in the sound that you feel a sense of fulfillment from having heard it” ~ TWF Magazine
Bored with the minimalist Indie rock of recent years, this Sheffield quartet fuse elements of rock, trip-hop and folk into deceptively gentle, hypnotic landscapes out of which the dual vocal harmonies of singers Nel and Lou sting forth with intensely personal lyrics and a flair for melody. This is psychedelia for the broken hearted.
Formed in 2005, Dyonisis have independently built a UK following that has supported regular forays into cities around the UK. Their sound is a blend of organic and digital, incorporating the classically rich vocals of Louisa which provide the perfect counter to the vulnerability and eccentricity of lead singer Nel. Marcus creates rolling bass lines that underpin the shimmering guitars and programmed beats of Tom. The result is as luxurious as it is lacerating.
The band present their second album ‘Intoxicated’, the follow up to their acclaimed self titled debut of 2007.
