New: Draff Krimmy

ABOUT THE PROJECT & ALBUM:

Draff Krimmy is not a band.

It is a project between people all over the world who communicate in the language of music.

Two German and a Norman are the core of the project. Their names: Jan, Mareno and Maciek. Two lives in Norway and one travels around the world.

Draff Krimmy started with “Präexistenz” in 2002, a track inspired by love, Rodion Raskolnikoff, and an acoustic home recording including songs about suicide and life. In 2003, the next piece “Inteventuell” was recorded. It was inspired by a honeymoon, A Silver Mt. Zion and Dumas` Le comte de Monte Cristo. It was an experimental piece which was created by a lot of people who didn`t know each other before. (5 songs/almost 60 minutes)

They have signed with Fluttery Records in 2010. Their 11 track full length “Poetry Of Vår” is their label debut.

They have many inspirations such as Constellation Records artists, projects of Engine Down members, the powerful and fragile tones from Japan, and last but not least the creations from Iceland. Draff Krimmy is an interesting music project which feed on many elements, many contributors.

Poetry of Vår is a result of a collaboration between musicians living in 8 different countries, which included Halvard Vebjörnsson (Germany), Morfar (Norway), Rim and Kidedo (France), Void`s Anatomy (Canada), Bosques De Mi Mente (Spain), Hasta Luego Pilar (Denmark), Dylan Waller (USA) and Gargle (Japan).

The album is an experimental piece of music with a cinematic atmosphere. Standing somewhere between post-rock / ambient, listeners of Set Fire to Flames, Eluvium, Godspeed You Black Emperor and Mùm may find new tastes in the album when they meet Draff Krimmy’s ambience floating with guitars, accordion and drones.

It is this early morning melting of the senses. Echoes of instruments you recognize and the swoosh of others unknown, melodies entwined, evocative, reaching out and meeting on neutral ground. Draff Krimmy is the peaceful coming together of peoples in the Northern lights, speaking in many languages and communicating. It is the poetry of vår.”

GOOD NEWS FROM FLUTTERY

Gate goes duo. Tokyo based noise-jazz project which was started by Lajos became duo when wind instruments player Taka joined the project in November 2009. They have just finished their first album as a duo. We are releasing the album (Iterations) on the 6th of Agust.

En Plein Air has played in front of thousands of people in the event which was organised to protest Italian prime minister Berlusconi who grows his power on press, public and privite television channels by changing the laws.

Portuguese modern classical / electronica artist Gonçalo Pereira who records under the monkier Diamond Gloss, has signed a recording contract with Fluttery Records.
