This is impressive! With the word ‘Noise’ in the name you might think this is harsh EBM, but this is in the area of a mild God Module – an eerie EBM sound with whips and black leather seduction.

The 2011 promo only has 4 tracks, but is so good you will want to play it twice.

Track 4, A Lot of Pain, remixed by Bak XII is one of the best tracks on this CD, along with track 3, Ressurection, remixed by Interfront, and Track 9, Ultra Dark Day, Version 2011.

Well done remixes of GrandChaos tracks that is quite impressive. 90′s EBM combined with post-apocolypse darkness in 15 tracks.

Track two, The Others, has a great ebm horror metal sound which sounds like the early Lords of Acid with underground metal.
Other tracks continue in the same vein, with a little acoustic insights. Good creepy fun.

First impression from listening to the opening track, Ophelia, is that this is amazingly delicious, dreamy, and, at the same time, dark. So, what makes this 9 track CDEP so good?? The music has that perfect feel of the sound on the The Cure’s Faith CD (1981) without being too low-key and gray. The band’s sound, with the soothing voice of Fuchsia, adds in elements of Love Spirals Downward, Mephisto Walz, and My Bloody Valentine without being so overpowering in a full wall of noise.

Bella Lune is so good they really deserve their own genre name: Comforting Darkwave.

The Ophelia EP contains several mixes of the title track, each with its own mood. The Ask For Joy mix of Ophelia makes this whole Ep worth getting, but really, if you haven’t heard this band, all of the tracks, remixes from previous releases, get impressively better after each listen. Track 3, Blissful Escape, and track 9, Underwater, and track 6, Silent and Still, are all remixes from the 2008 CD titled Abstracted Visions. This and The Other, Ophelia, and The Dolly Pop Song, which brings to mind the erotic styling of the Lords of Acid, are from Synesthesia, Bella Lune’s 2010 CD. Also included on this EP is Dead Souls – a Joy Division cover.

To say we love Ophelia is an understatement.
Your halo sinking with your heart again. I hear you calling and I feel it even more.

Hurley – Synth
R. Duke -Drums
Beeka – Violin
Jeremy – Guitar

The first full length release by The Returners, titled Lost Souls, is a hardcore gothic punk intensity for fans of the Misfits, GBH, and Agnostic Front. Horror punk at its finest. The CD starts out with a nice creepy dialogue from an old horror movie, giving the CD the classic horror feel. The real fun doesn’t kick in until the amazing 3rd track titled Staring into the Abyss.

So, who are The Returners? They are a punk/gothic band from California who have played shows with Wednesday 13, 69 Eyes, Agent Orange, and even The Misfits. On Lost Souls The Returners cover a Danzig song titled Soul on Fire. This is a well-done play it loud kind of CD.

The Returners’ Lost Souls is a fierce gothic whip on your punk ass.

Released on Nothing But a Nightmare Records, 2011
Catalog #5
Previous releases: The Amanda EP, Love Like Suicide, We Die Alone. The We Die Alone 7” was released on red vinyl.

One of the best tracks on the Lost Souls CD is Staring into the Abyss. Lyrics to this song are below:

Into my darkest depths
I gaze long and deep

Darkness closes in
fear begins to spread
inside of every limb
Haunting every step
shadows of the past
tear my life to shreds

You can’t feel it as it cuts
life from every angle
and vitiates my heart
I don’t feel it, is it love?
I wouldn’t know it’s texture
or taste on my tongue

This black abyss
reflects my darkest depths
the beast I see
stares back at me!

So cold and bitter to the touch
the mirror casts a stranger
with hatred in it’s eyes
who am I and what have I done?
Tears fall down like angels
into the void

(and now) This black abyss
reflects my darkest depths
the beast I see
stares back at me

Darkness closes in
fear begins to spread
inside of every limb
Haunting every step
shadows of the past
tear my life to shreds

October 2011 – Heavy on the industrial and massive on the volume the new Noisuf-X CD. Borders on harsh dancefloor goth club music especially on Clubhit and Fulfill its Promise. Other tracks feature well-suited cryptic quotes amongst the hard hitting beats. Noisuf-X sound like a machine on a mission. Wir Fuhlen Den Krach may be the best track on this CD, with Stay Still, Clubhit (PLAY THIS ONE LOUD!), Es Wird Brennen, and Done in 15 Minutes, What, and Murderhouse being the Must Play Often tracks. Future Ska, featuring Population, is the industrial ska interlude in the insanity.

October 2011 – (From Artoffact Records) Formed in 2005, the Canadian trio Encephalon have kept the electro-industrial underground waiting with bated breath for five long years. But 2011 brings the band’s first album, The Transhuman Condition, an album that incorporates all the band’s wide influences, from Ministry to The Cure to NIN and more. Focusing on themes of isolation, futurism and human evolution, The Transhuman Condition is sure to bring Encephalon’s fantastically dark sound to a wider audience beyond electro insiders, independent filmmakers and scene DJs.
